What the role entails:

• Writing your own articles

• Sourcing writers from within your school and encouraging people to contribute.

• Editing articles sent to you by your writers and sending these to editor@thestudenteconomist.co.uk to be published

• Circulating the Student Economist website link in your school to encourage the reading of your articles.

• Sharing our socials

Who are we looking for:

• Someone with a passion for current affairs who is looking to put their mind to paper

• Someone in year 11,12 or 13

Journalist:

Write articles to be published on the Student Economist website.

Why be a journalist?

• A great opportunity to practice journalism, exercise an interest in current affairs and network with likeminded people.

• Get a specialised writer profile page with all your articles.

• Looks great on a CV and a university, job or work experience application.

• It can be added as employment experience on LinkedIn, providing vital journalism experience for those looking to go into the hardest industries to break into.

• Counts as a skill for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and can be signed off by our editor

What the role entails:

• Writing your own articles and sending them to your school editor or the publication editor at editor@thestudenteconomist.co.uk to be published on our website.

• We ask for an article every half term ideally, however at the student economist we understand that school is stressful, hence you can make the role work around you
